Please check on availability and register for a Field Day immediately upon successful completion of the Online Hunter Safety Course.

Welcome to the official site for Idaho's independent study hunting education course approved by Idaho Fish and Game. Taking a hunter education course will allow you to comply with Idaho hunter education law and will also make you a safer and more knowledgeable hunter.

	Simple and self-paced—This hunter safety course is user-friendly and self-directed. Study as much as you need to know, as slowly or quickly as you like to learn!
	Have fun learning with interactive animations, like this movie about how a firearm works.
	When you're ready, take the official Idaho Pre-Certification Exam for only $15. Upon passing, receive your Pre-Certification Exam Certificate, which allows you to attend a day of field activities required to complete the certification process.

What You'll Learn

Take any of the Idaho hunting safety courses and:

• Learn about hunter responsibility and ethics
• Discover how firearms work and learn about firearm safety
• Improve your wildlife identification, game care, survival and first aid skills
• Develop firearm handling skills and hunting techniques
• Increase awareness about wildlife conservation and management
• For students taking the online course and passing the online test, receive your official Idaho Pre-Certification Exam Certificate, a prerequisite for attending an Idaho Hunter Education Program Independent Study Field Day
• Receive your official Certificate of Completion upon successfully meeting all hunting safety course requirements

Hunter education is not just for kids and not just for hunters. The program is for all folks who enjoy the outdoors and have an interest in conservation. The course can also be an excellent refresher for veteran hunters.
